In this assignment we were told to take a picture of ourselves and copy and paste 4 of them and change the hues and colors until it looks like the first picture. We used filters, guides, resizing canvases, threshold dialog, and moved layers to make the picture look like it is supposed to. I learned from this assignment how to do a lot of different things in photoshop. I learned how to copy and paste more than one picture, how to use the rulers to get an even picture, how to get a new layer and change the size of the canvas I am using, I also learned how to use the hue and saturation better. I also think I learned about how to just find things better in photoshop in general.

#1shutter speed is 1/10. #2 shutter speed is 1/80. #3 shutter speed is 1/125. #4 shutter speed is 1/200 The shutter speed is shown here in picture one when I made the shutter speed 1/10 and the picture is blurry and in picture four I made the shutter speed 1/200 and it froze him dribbling. I had to make the picture brighter to compensate for the less light coming in. Aperture is 2.8 Aperture is 4.0 Aperture is 5.6 Aperture is 8.0 In these pictures I tried to show how changing the aperture changes the depth of field. The pictures don't look much different because of the camera but in picture 1, I used 2.8 aperture to make a shallow depth of field with a wide open aperture with more light, and have the person in the back be blurry. In picture 4, I used 8.0 aperture to try and make a longer depth of field with a smaller aperture to let less light in, and have the person be sharper in the back.
For the first photo assignment I chose to focus on animals. I want to learn how to shoot the best pictures I can of animals in many different ways. I thought the first one was cool just because of how they shot the dog in motion in air and froze it with a fast shutter speed.
I liked the second picture because of how they went close up to the eyes of the animal and shot it in a different way than most other pictures I saw. I also liked the third picture because of how they took the picture in a bigger aperture so the ball in front of the dog was in the focus more. I just thought this was cool because it is a different way to have the dog in the photo still. I thought all of these were cool photos because how they all had the animal in the picture in different ways, whether it was close up in the eyes or in the background more. In this assignment we had to use many kind of composition to take pictures. First we researched and took notes on the different kinds of compositions and we took notes. We then went out to find those kinds of pictures in our school and nature. Rule of Thirds Pattern Symmetry Pattern Depth of Field Lines Framing Prospective Space Balance Color I learned a lot of basic and good things from this assignment. We learned about how all the different ways to take a photo and what they do to make them look better. I learned how to use the camera better and how to get the best shots possibly for a certain kind of picture. I thought getting some of the different kinds was hard like, pattern was hard for me to find and understanding space was kind of hard. I liked the most about this was how I got to learn how to take a basic picture that looks good.
My name is Luke Hoyt, I am a junior at saline high school. I play varsity football and wrestling. I like to hang out with friends and family.
I took this class because I needed one more credit and I wanted to learn how to actually take a good photo. Other than this class I have only used photoshop a few times and take pictures with my phone. |
