For our 5th photo assignment, I chose to do light painting. I did this in my basement with all the lights off and a flashlight. I used mostly pool balls because I thought they were a cool subject to focus the light on and I think they turned out pretty well. Shutter Speed is 10 seconds, Aperture is 4.5, and ISO is 100. The only thing I edited in the picture was I cropped the picture in a little to make it closer. This assignment was one of the harder ones I did because it took awhile for me to figure out the right settings to make it work and focus correctly. I also couldn't get the different colors to show up how I wanted them. It was fun trying different things with the objects and overall I like how they turned out.

For this assignment we were told to go out and get a 2 pictures with a wider background and then set up a tripod and take pictures of people in different positions in that background. We needed to have 5 pictures of different people in the photo and then we went into photoshop and learned how to use layer masking to get each person in the picture. This assignment was probably one of the hardest that I have done just because of how hard it was to get a picture with good lighting that would turn out well. We had trouble shooting pictures for the first two days because the camera has to be on manual so that it doesn't auto focus into different setting so the pictures and go over each other smoothly. By the final day of shooting we got the setting better and the pictures turned out much better. The photoshop part of the assignment was very helpful learning how to use layers and masking properly.
For week 4 of photo assignments I chose to do still life. I used mainly a fruit and a ukulele to capture still life. Aperture is 3.5, shutter speed is 1/60, and ISO is 800 The only things I changed from the original picture on the left was I cropped the image in more and I also used a clone stamp to take out the jacket in the top and the camera strap in the bottom left. The hardest part about shooting this assignment was getting the darker lighting I wanted for it. I took these photos in the middle of the day so I had to do some things to get the light I wanted and I also had to figure out the best way to use my camera in the dark.
In this assignment we were supposed to take a normal picture or panoramic of a space in the school or of the school or really anything we could edit. We were supposed to add something unexpected into the picture and change it around. I learned a lot about photoshop during this assignment because it made me find features i've never used before. I really thought this assignment was fun and creative but also taught me a lot about how to use the basics of photoshop.
For this assignment we had to either use or a tripod or steady hand to take pictures of a large picture and overlap them with each other. After we got the pictures we had to use photoshop to merge the pictures together to make them into panoramic photos. Overall I really liked doing the panoramic photos. I was a little harder for me because I didn't use a tripod, I just used my hands but they seemed to work out pretty well, some of the pictures I tried had to be thrown away because it didn't look right because of me using my hands.
For week 3 of the photo assignments I chose to do nature. Nature was a little hard near my house for creativity wise but it was not that hard to find things to get some good pictures of. One of the big things I think I got better at trying to shoot nature photos was how to use the shutter speed well because it was pretty windy the day I took these pictures.
For week two of photo assignment I did macro pictures. I took around 100 pictures of mostly flowers using the macro setting and getting up close to get all the details in the flowers I could. Aperture: 10 Shutter Speed: 1/250 ISO: 100 These are the my 5 next best photos. I think shooting the macro photos was pretty easy when I figured out what I wanted to do. I had trouble trying to use anything other than flowers because they just didn't turn out as well and didn't get the details I wanted.
For this week I chose to do Marco photography. This week I wanted to see if I could get good pictures of flowers and their texture using the macro setting. I really like the first picture because of how they blacked out the background and got all the texture of the colorful flower.
I chose the second picture because I really liked how they, again, blacked out the background and focused on the eye and really brought out all the colors in the eye. the third picture I chose is the picture of the pencil lead. The main reason I liked this one was because of how well it got all the texture and little details of the pencil lead In this assignment we were told to take an original picture of a car and make it look like the edited picture we got. We learned how to use layers, levels. clone tool, selection tool, and cropping. We used the layer to organize our adjustments and we used the levels to change the exposer of our car. The most important tool we used was the selection tool, we used this tool to only select certain parts of the car, like the windshield, to edit them individually. Before After Second Edited What I learned from this assignment was how to use the selection tool better. I think getting to know the selection tool better is important because we are going to use it more and more in the class. I also learned how to use the exposure and different editing tool more within the selection tool.
For this assignment I took 50-100 pictures of a certain topic. This week I chose animals and took pictures of my two dogs with different apertures and shutter speeds. Aperture is 5.0, Shutter speed is 1/60, and ISO is 125. I only did a little editing to make it a little more contrast and a little brighter.
